Guitarist Simone Gubbiotti is a musician with a strong presence in both the USA and Europe where he performs with musicians such as Peter Erskine, Ari Hoenig, Joe La Barbera, Arthur Blythe, Marco Panascia, Adam Nussbaum, Jay Anderson,

Sid Jacobs and Joe Diorio. In Europe he plays on regular basis with Marco Marconi, Christian Pabst, Jasper Somsen, Allison Burns and with some of the finest italian artists  such as Massimo Manzi, Davide Liberti, Gianmarco Scaglia, Paolo Franciscone, Fabio Zeppetella.


Music was not Simone’s first passion, he began his career in the world of sport playing professionally for AC Milan. After sustaining a serious knee injury Simone, 

at the age of 24, took the decision to refocus and pursue a career in music.

He started as a self-taught attending in a second moment the clinics of the Berklee College of Music at Umbria Jazz studying with Jim Kelly. He studied with Jon Damian in Boston and, after moving to Los Angeles, with Sid Jacobs and Joe Diorio. During the years Simone attended workshops with Jim Hall, Scott Henderson and assisted as a translator Jonathan Kreisberg, Sid Jacobs and Paul Wertico.


Simone performs in a number of important projects such as the Paul Wertico Quartet. With his trio #Underdogs he toured and played in several international Jazz Festivals in Poland, Uk, Holland, Italy, and Mexico.

Simone is also a writer and journalist for the prestigious magazine Jazz in Europe. His book "The Art to be an Underdog" has been translated in three languages
